The Board and Senior Management of the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) joined with Demerara Timbers Limited (DTL) and its Development Partners Golden Good Hope Inc. and Caribbean Star Industry Inc. to Commission three (3) Sawmilling Units at the company Mabura location.
The Company plans to expand the facility to include two (2) additional units and six (6) kiln drying units and upgrade to the Mabura Complex. This is in keeping with the Company’s expansion plan in the added value segment and support added value activities as outline in the Low Carbon Development Strategy 20230 and the key development agenda of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the GFC.
The company plans to produce high quality sawn lumber for both the local and export market.
